Freshmen may take the courses offered by the program and then apply for the program in their second year after receiving their scores in College Chinese and Freshman English. 

Graduate students cannot apply for this program but can still take the courses that are included in the program.

You may still begin attending the program’s courses, and submit your application as well as all the required documents within the first two weeks of the beginning of the next semester. Students who will be graduating this semester may directly contact the Language Center to apply for the program.

Yes.

Incompletion of the required credits will not affect your rights to graduate, and you will not be required to withdraw from the program.

Please log in to your NCHU Academic Affairs System account to see your application results approximately 10 work days after the deadline of the application submission. 

Yes. Please write that you wish to reacquire the course credits on the application form for the Certificate of Completion. Following the approval from the program convenor, the course credits will be included in the list of credits you have acquired, and you will not be required to re-attend the courses. 

If your application to waive the credits has been approved, please come to the Program Office with an original copy of your NCHU academic transcript, application form for the program, and the following documents:
If you have waived Freshman Chinese with scores from your former university → please submit an original academic transcript of your former university. Your score in Chinese must at least be 70, or above.
If you have waived Freshman English with scores from your former university → please submit an original academic transcript of your former university. Your score in English must at least be 70, or above.
If you have waived Freshman English with a certificate of English proficiency → please submit your transcript of the English proficiency examination or a certificate declaring that you have passed the examination. 

No. Credits acquired from attending classes not held by NCHU, or from cross-university electives not held by NCHU cannot be used to waive the credits of this program. 

You can claim your Certificate of Completion at the Division of Registration approximately 9 days after you apply for it. 

No. Students must complete the courses of this program within their period of study at the university, and apply for the Certificate of Completion before graduating. Alumni are not allowed to apply for the certificate.
