To encourage outstanding students to study Mandarin in Taiwan and experience traditional Taiwanese culture, the Ministry of Education offers the Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program. The award period varies depending on the policies of Taiwan's overseas economic representative offices. The available award periods may be granted forthree months, six months, nine months, and twelve months. Applications are accepted annually between  January to March each year.
