 The process for applying for visa for Studying Chinese purpose

Step 1

Please prepare the following documents based on the Bureau of Consular Affairs website:

1. Visa Application Form

  • Log in to the Visa Application Form System to fill out the form, print the application form with the barcode, and sign it personally to confirm.


2. Two 2-inch color photos taken within the last 6 months

  • The background must be white.


3. Original and copy of passport

  • The passport must be valid for more than 6 months and have blank pages.

  • Please photocopy the information page that contains your photo, as well as your last visa for Taiwan, if any.


4. Original and copy of the Admission Letter from our center

  • the qualifications and procedures of Admission Letter
     
  • The admission letter provided by our center is only valid for the term specified on the letter. If you postpone your enrollment for any reason, you must re-apply for admission and a new visa accordingly.


5. Original and copy of the study plan

  • The content should include the motivation for studying Chinese and your study plan.

6. Original and copy of financial proof

  • Such as a bank account balance statements or foreign remittance receipts.

※According to government regulations, foreigners holding a Visa for studying Chinese must take at least 15 hours of Chinese classes per week and are not allowed to work for 6 months of their stduy.

 

   Important Notes
  1. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the R.O.C. (Taiwan) has the right to refuse to grant visas without any explanation. The visa application fee is nonrefundable even if a visa is not granted.

  2. For passport holders from certain countries (please refer to Visitor Visa Application for Foreigners from the Designated Countries), our embassies and missions abroad may refuse to accept visa applications for studying Chinese purpose.

  3. Those who enter Taiwan under a visa-exemption program, with a landing visa, or with a visitor visa for purposes other than studying Chinese, as well as those who already reside in Taiwan for other purposes, may not convert their visas to ones for the purpose of studying Chinese in Taiwan.

  4. The maximum duration of a visitor visa is 6 months or 180 days. Please apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) at the National Immigration Agency before your visitor visa expires (applicants must have studied in Taiwan for at least 4 months and have paid for at least 3 months of registration).

  5. The admission letter provided by our center does not guarantee that the applicant will obtain a visa to enter Taiwan. The decision to issue a visa rests with the embassies and missions abroad. Obtaining a visa does not automatically grant entry into Taiwan.

Step 2

Bring the above documents and visa fee to the Embassies and Missions Abroad to apply for the visa.
