  Application Procedures
Step 1

Stduents who need to apply for visa for Studying Chinese purpose,
please prepare the following documents:


1. ID photo


2. Scholarship application and a study plan
(Students who don't need to apply for 
scholarship can skip)

  • If you want to apply for the Ministry of Education Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Taiwan Scholarship (MOFA), you must also submit a scholarship application form provided by an overseas office and a study plan (in Chinese or English, at least 300 characters).

3. Signed Notice for Application 

3. Passport copy(passport must be valid for the duration of study, at least 6 months)

4. Highest education diploma copy (must be translated into English or Chinese)

  • If you plan to continue your studies in Taiwan, it is recommended that your diploma and transcripts be authenticated by a ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission, an institution established or designated by the Executive Yuan, or a private organization entrusted by the government.

5. Financial Statement (must be translated into English or Chinese)

  • A minimum of USD 3,000 or an equivalent amount in another currency is required. The proof must be issued within the last three months, be in English, and specify the currency.
  • If using a friend or relative's financial statement, you must also submit a letter of financial guarantee and a copy of the guarantor's passport.


6. Health Examination

I. Positive antibody test report for measles and rubella (test date within 5 years) or vaccination certificate (no expiration, but the age at vaccination must be greater than one year)

It is recommended to use the designated Health Certificate for Short-Term Students form. Alternatively, you can have your report translated into Chinese or English and verified by an overseas mission.

Students who are unable to get an examination in their home country can visit a designated hospital within 14 days of arriving in Taiwan.

II. Chest X-ray for tuberculosis

Chest X-ray for tuberculosis examination (issued in 3 months) before students arrivie in Taiwan.
It is recommended to use the designated 
Health Certificate for Short-Term Students form. Alternatively, you can have your report translated into Chinese or English and verified by an overseas mission.
Students who are unable to get an examination in their home country can visit a designated hospital within 14 days of arriving in Taiwan.

*According to government regulations, foreigners holding a Visa for studying Chinese must take at least 15 hours of Chinese classes per week and are not allowed to work during 6 months of their study .

   

* For those who do not need to apply for visa for Studying Chinese purpose, please prepare the signed Notice for Application, a copy of your passport, ARC (if you have one), and Taiwan ID card(if you have one).
Step 2
Please scan the documents above into electronic files,

and upload to the
application form.

Step 3
Once we receive your application, we will reply with your application results within 7 business days.

If your application is approved, we will send you the Admission Letter.

Step 4

Visa Application (Can be skipped by those who do not need a Visa for studying Chinese)

Log in to the Online Visa Application Form System to fill out the information.
Bring your admission letter to the nearest ROC(Taiwan) Embassies and Missions Abroad to apply for the visa.

*According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the R.O.C. (Taiwan) has the right to refuse to grant visas without any explanation.

*A Visa for studying Chinese is mostly a Visitor Visa, with a duration of 60 to 90 days.
You can apply for your vistor visa extension or change to an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) in Taiwan.

Visa Sample:

1. A Visa for studying Chinese is a Visitor Visa.
If you are a recipient of the Scholarship, your visa may be a Resident Visa.
Holders of a Resident Visa must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) at the National Immigration Agency within 15 days of entering the country.
The duration of stay is based on the validity period on the ARC.

2. You must enter Taiwan before the expiration date on the visa.

3. A Visa for studying Chinese is usually valid for 60 to 90 days.
A Resident Visa does not have a duration of stay.

4. Entries: There are two types of entries: SINGLE and MULTIPLE.
*If you have a single-entry visa, it will become invalid once you leave Taiwan.

Step 5

Go to office 308 to complete payment and registration before the class starts.
